Shahid Kapoor and sister Sanah celebrated the festival of Raksha Bandhan together on Saturday. Shahid posted a picture of himself with Sanah on social media and wrote, “#rakhi with the the sister :):)” Interestingly, Sanah will make her Bollywood debut in Shahid Kapoor’s coming film ‘Shaandaar’. In the movie, she plays the sister of the character essayed by Alia Bhatt.

Shahid Kapoor and Alia Bhatt promoted their movie 'Shandaar' at an event in Mumbai today. They were launching a new tooth care product from a popular brand. 
Shahid and Alia entertained the crowd and also shook a leg with them. The spoke about their movie and said that it was different and special. Alia said about her co-star Shahid, "He is a very chilled out guy. He has been around for so many years. He's a thorough professional. I really enjoyed working with him."
Shaandaar is directed by Vikas Bahl and produced by Anurag Kashyap and Vikramaditya Motwane. It stars Shahid Kapoor and Alia Bhatt in lead roles, with Pankaj Kapur and Sanjay Kapoor in supporting roles. The film also stars Shahid's sister Sanah Kapoor and is set to release on October 22.

Malaika Arora Khan to join Shahid Kapoor as the new judge on Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa Reloaded!

Malaika Arora Khan has been roped in as a judge on Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa Reloaded, inform sources. “Talks were on with her for some time, but Malaika had date issues. Now, everything is sorted and she has given her nod to the show,” adds a source. She will replace Karan Johar, who quit the show mid-way to focus on his next directorial Ae Dil Hai Mukshil. Malaika will be joining Shahid Kapoor, Ganesh Hegde and Lauren Gottlieb bringing much-needed glamour to the show.
Known for her dancing skills — she has sizzled in several item numbers from Chaiyya to Munni Badnaam — Malaika has been a veteran at judging dance shows too. So far, she has judged celebrity dance reality shows like Nach Baliye and Zara Nachke Dikha. In fact she had even been on the judging panel of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa Season 4 with Madhuri Dixit and Remo D’Souza.

Karan Johar bids adieu to ‘Jhalak Reloaded’

Since the inception of the latest season of celebrity dance show ‘Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa’, modified as ‘Jhalak Reloaded’, there were rumours surrounding its judging panel. While some said there will be four judges in total, others opined that the new judge of the show Shahid Kapoor would leave the show midway, i.e. after judging for eight weeks.
The channel, Colors, went on to deny all such rumours one after the other and reaffirmed that the panel of judges would be retained for the whole season of the show.

Shahid Kapoor, Mira Rajput return from honeymoon

Shahid Kapoor and his wife Mira Rajput were spotted at Mumbai airport while returning from their honeymoon.

The married couple had flown to London for their much belated honeymoon which came more than a month after they tied the knot because of Shahid Kapoor’s professional commitment to the TV show ‘Jhalak Dikhlaa Jaa Reloaded’.

The actor recently took a break from the show, flew off to London with dear wifey.

It was not just a honeymoon getaway. The duo reportedly attended the satsang by the Radha Swami sect which they are followers of.

Upon their return to Mumbai on Monday night, Shahid and Mira were clicked by the media personnel. They walked out of the airport hand-in-hand. A beautiful couple indeed.

Recent reports of the Bajrangi Bhaijaan hitmaker taking over from Shahid Kapoor as on of the judges on Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa have people close to the hit Colors reality show amused.
“Salman hasn’t even been approached for Jhalak.

“The channel would never ask Salman to do Jhalak. They are keen to get him back on Bigg Boss which is Salman’s signature show on television.

“He isn't even enthused about doing another season of Bigg Boss. Why would he agree to do Jhalak?” a source close to the show asks.

Shaandaar’ trailer gets over 5m views

The trailer for Shahid Kapoor and Alia Bhatt film Shaandaar has been winning hearts with its romantic theme, garnering over five million views on YouTube within just seven days after its launch.
The over three-minute long trailer, which is packed with fun, romance and humour, introduces Kapoor as Jagjinder Joginder and Bhatt as Alia.
Excited with the response, Bhatt said the news was a great start to her Monday.
“Some #Shaandaar love happening... Perfect start to our Monday ;).. JJ what you feel ?? @shahidkapoor,” she tweeted.
The movie also features Pankaj Kapur, Sanjay Kapoor, Sanah Kapoor, Sushma Seth, Diljit Dosanj, Shibani Dandekar and Anjana Sukhani.
The upcoming romantic comedy movie, which revolves around a destination wedding, is produced by filmmakers Karan Johar, Anurag Kashyap and Vikramaditya Motwane.

Alia and Shahid Look Good On Screen, Says Shaandaar Director

Director Vikas Bahl feels that his Shaandaar co-stars Shahid Kapoor and Alia Bhatt, who are paired on screen for the first time, look good together.

Vikas who earlier directed Kangana Ranaut's Queen also said that the duo share a good chemistry.

In Shaandaar, Shahid is a wedding planner, Jagjinder Joginder, who is in charge of organising the marriage ceremony of Alia's sister.

When asked about whether he was apprehensive or not to cast Shahid in a romantic comedy post his serious stint in Haider, Vikas said, "There is no pressure like that. He has hardly done intense roles like Haider. He is a fun actor. This is his space and he enjoyed doing the film. We had a lot of fun."

The film also stars Shahid's real life father Pankaj Kapur, who plays Alia's dad in the film. His half-sister Sanah Kapoor makes her Bollywood debut with the film, playing the bride in the destination wedding drama.

Co-produced by Phantom Films, Karan Johar's Dharma Productions and Fox Shaandaar will hit theatres on October 22.

During the promotional activity of movie ‘SHANDAAR’ along with Karan Johar and Alia Bhatt, Shahid revealed to media that he had been planning ‘URTA PUNJAB’ for one year but no actress was willing to do this character.

“I told Alia that this is the kind of character which suits her best and she must do it, soon after two days Alia called me crying and said she was very inspired by this script and would perform the character herself.”

Shahid further said that it was the bravery of Alia that she said ‘YES’ to this character.

Big compliment for Alia to be compared to Kareena: Shahid Kapoor

Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor said that it is an achievement for Alia Bhatt to be compared to Kareena Kapoor Khan.
At the trailer launch of his upcoming film Shaandaar, when Shahid was asked about the similarities between Alia and Kareena, he said: "First of all, it's a big compliment for Alia that she's compared to Kareena, since she's an extremely established actress and has done some notable work. I don't see any similarity between the two, since I feel Alia is an original actress and so is Kareena."

"I did Jab We Met with Kareena many years ago, and now I'm doing Shaandaar with Alia. The only common aspect is that I am doing a love story. But other than that, I think both are phenomenal actors. Both of them are fantastic in their own ways," he added.
The Haider actor also spoke about how Alia agreed upon Udta Punjab in just two days despite the film's dark subject. Directed by Abhishek Chaubey, Udta Punjab also features Kareena apart from Shahid and Alia.
"I think Alia has her own journey, making some brave decisions. In the past 15-20 years, I haven't seen any other actress taking such brave decisions," said Shahid.
Produced by Phantom Films and Karan Johar's Dharma Productions, Shaandaar has been directed by Vikas Bahl, who had previously directed 2014 film Queen.
Shaandaar is scheduled to release this October on Dussehra.

Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor will be seen addressing a press conference for the first time post-marriage at the trailer launch of his upcoming film Shaandaar.
The film's spokesperson said in a statement as reported in an article in mid-day.com, "Shaandaar is India's first destination wedding film and Shahid being married recently, serves as the perfect platform for him to make his first public appearance post marriage,"
The actor married Mira Rajput in Delhi on July 7 in a private ceremony and it was a closely guarded affair. He made a brief appearance on the day of his wedding itself, but did not speak to the media.
Shahid is paired opposite Alia Bhatt in this film and it will be interesting to see the chemistry between this fresh pair. Directed by Vikas Bahl, the romantic entertainer is scheduled to release on October 22.
