Action movies have always been one of core elements of the mainstream cinema. But in the recent times, we have seen that regular maar-dhad is paving way for more intense, violent action sequences. And our chocolate boy heroes are in a race to change their image, by donning the angry young man avatar. In past few months, we have seen a handful of B-town lover boy’s sending a shiver down the spine with their intimidating antics. We pitted four such talented actors for the coveted title of angry young man of Bollywood and here are the results:
With his bloodshot eyes, bald haircut and brooding demeanour, Shahid seems to have cast a spell on fans. Shahid Kapoor’s vengeance seeking act in Haider seems to have really impressed the masses, as he has been crowned the angry young man of Bollywood by fans with 39 percent of the votes. The runner-up in the competition is none other than Sidharth Malhotra got 30 percent of the votes, thanks to his breaking the mould act in Mohit Suri’s Ek Villain. Varun Dhawan’s violent act in Badlapur, got him 27 percent of the votes, closely tailing his Student Of The Year co-star Sidharth, while Arjun was at the fourth place with meager 4 percent of the votes.
With the advent of new year, all eyes will be on Varun Dhawan to prove the fans verdict wrong with his crazy, angry avatar in Sriram Raghavan’s Badlapur. But until then, Shahid Kapoor seems to be the clear choice for angry young man title
