Shaandaar song Nazdeekiyan out! Love is in the air for Shahid Kapoor and Alia Bhatt

Shaandaar song Nazdeekiyan out! Love is in the air for Shahid Kapoor and Alia Bhatt

Shahid Kapoor and Alia Bhatt’s latest outing together, Shaandaar is grandeur and beauty personified. So we were not really surprised to see that in the latest song too there was ample of ‘exotic’ness but, it is the lead couple’s sizzling chemistry that stands out tall. Amit Trivedi doles out a soothing romantic number that is penned by Amitabh Bhattacharya and rendered by Neeti Mohan and Nikhil Paul George. And without wasting any more time we will tell you what’s hot about this soulful track…
Shahid Kapoor and Alia Bhatt prove that they would look smokin’ hot even if they were in the black and white era. The song itself has an old world charm about it and is choreographed and shot beautifully too. Shahid’s father Pankaj Kapoor proves that he can play a rustic and a millionaire both with equal panache. However, once Alia and Shahid take over the dance floor we’re sure like us your eyeballs will be glued to this good looking pair. With matching black and white outfits they are simply picture perfect!

Shahid Kapoor finally opens up about Mira Rajput’s Bollywood debut – watch video!

Shahid Kapoor finally opens up about Mira Rajput’s Bollywood debut – watch video!

Even before Mira Rajput became Mira Kapoor, it was established that Shahid Kapoor is one of those actors who prefers to keep his personal life under wraps. Not only was the media kept away from the wedding, even post marriage, Shahid has always avoided all questions pertaining to his wife or his married life. But, a while ago, rumour mills had been abuzz with the goss of Vikram Aditya Motwane wanting to do a project with Shahid Kapoor and cast his wife, Mira Rajput opposite him. Obviously, fans who have been raving about the couple’s cute chemistry were thrilled but looks like their dream might never come true ever.
At the recent GQ Awards night, when asked about any such project being underway, Shahid outright rubbished the news. However, he did not deny Vikram’s intention of wanting to bring the couple together onscreen. When asked about the rumours, Shahid tartly replied, “That’s between me and Vikram, but she (Mira) is not an actor, she’s my wife.” When the journo pushed a little more, Shahid smiled and walked off with a simple “No comments.”
Shahid, who looked as dashing as ever, stepped out in a classy textured suit in deep grey and won the GQ Actor Of The Year award for his remarkable performance in Haider, also mentioned that he loves everything about the film, even answering questions related to the film.

Shaandaar music review: Amit Trivedi’s score for this Shahid Kapoor – Alia Bhatt romcom totally lives up to the movie title!

Shaandaar music review: Amit Trivedi’s score for this Shahid Kapoor – Alia Bhatt romcom totally lives up to the movie title!

Music – Amit Trivedi

Lyrics – Amitabh Bhattacharya & Anvita Dutt

Singers – Amit Trivedi, Vishal Dadlani, Anusha Mani, Nikhil Paul George, Neeti Mohan, Arijit Singh, Swanand Kirkire & Divya Kumar

Shahid Kapoor and Alia Bhatt‘s Shaandaar is one of the most awaited releases this year. The trailers and the songs have really caught everyone’s fancy, especially the Gulaabo and theShaam Shaandaar songs. Director Vikas Bahl reunites with his fave composer Amit Trivedi after a zany soundtrack in Queen. Let’s see how the entire album benefits from their collaboration.
Shaam Shaandaar
Amit Trivedi himself takes up the singing duties for the first song of the album, and going by the video of the song that was launched last week, we know what a rocking number it is! It’s a song that will make even the listener to reach out for the dance floor, and you have Shahid Kapoor to show you the moves! A great start!
Gulaabo
It’s Vishal Dadlani and Anusha Mani here to croon what could be one of the best songs of the years. Like Shaam Shaandaar, even Gulaabo has some really addictive beats that will get you hooked on to the song the instant you hear it! Though Vishal Dadlani is the song-stealer (pardon the pun!) here, Anusha Mani complements her male co-singer quite well. Gulaabo is surely going to top the charts for a long time!
Nazdeekiyaan
It’s time for the romantic piece to enter the show, as is the norm with all Bollywood albums. It’s up to Nikhil Paul George and and Neeti Mohan to make sure we fall in love with the song and they do a pretty good job in doing so. Nikhil Paul George, with his lazy sounding voice that he used to impress us with Shaam in Aisha, continues to do so, while Neeti Mohan is excellent. It may take a couple of hearings for the song to work its magic on, but I assure it’s totally worth it!
Senti Wali Mental
With a title like that, you expect a madcap number like Happy B’Day from ABCD 2. But Senti Wali Mental is different. Sure, it’s fun number, where men and women make fun of each other, but in a more sangeet version style. The lyrics by Amitabh Bhattacharya are quirky and amusing (Brad Pitt ka hai tu potta…ya James Bond Hai?). Swanand Kirkire, Arijit Singh, Amit Trivedi and Neeti Mohan seem to have fun with lyrics too, as they get on to the business of mocking each other.
Raitaa Phailgaya
Since the film is all about destination wedding, there has to to be one song about weddings and of course, alcohol, and that’s what Raitaa Phailgaya is all about! It’s a totally crazy song, and Amit Trivedi has roped in the right man to justice do the song – Divya Kumar, who enlivens the proceedings with his unconventional singing. Amitabh Bhattacharya scores again with his apt and funny words (Gulzar ke geeton mein Honey Singh kaise ghus gaya… Brilliant!)! It would sure be fun to watch this song on the screen!
Verdict
Any album with Amit Trivedi’s name on it is bound to be a chart-buster, and the man has seldom disappointed us. The songs in this soundtrack only confirms this much established fact, as you have an album that simply serves to please your ears and make you say, Shaandaar!
Our picks
Shaam Shaandaar, Gulaabo, Nazdeekiyaan, Senti Wali Mental
Rating:4.0 out of 54.0 Star Rating

Alia Bhatt, Shahid Kapoor Explain: Who is Gulaabo? Why the Menswear?

Gulaabo Song

A 'making of' video explains much that left us mildly puzzled by Gulaabo, the song fromShaandaar featuring lead actors Shahid Kapoor and Alia Bhatt and Shahid's step-sister Sanah, making her debut.

For one, Sanah is Gulaabo. But that's not actually her name in the film, just the song. As Alia explains, 'Alia and JJ (Jaginder Joginder, played by Shahid) are trying to cheer up Eesha' - with a bachelorette party.

For another, despite the beer tankards clinking and the haycarts and the fedoras, the look director Vikas Bahl was going for wasn't German barnyard but New York underground ghetto.

For a third, everyone's dressed in menswear and moustaches - even the women - to make Eesha, as the lone damsel, the centre of attention.

Oh, and lest we forget, that's Gulaabo on the poster, not Jessica Rabbit.

Among other details spilled is this from choreographer duo Bosco-Caesar on Alia and Shahid's much-awaited part of the song: "They would only wait for that section of the song, where people would go mad doing their funny dance." Yes, we know exactly what he means.
Composed by Amit Trivedi with vocals by Vishal Dadlani and Anusha Mani, Gulaabo has quirky lyrics by Anvita Dutt. Shaandaar, which also stars Sanjay Kapoor and Anjana Sukhani, is slated to hit screens on October 22.

When Shahid Kapoor did pushups, crunches on sets of 'Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 8'

Shahid Kapoor

Shahid Kapoor is one star who is very strict about his fitness routine. The actor recently made it evident on the sets of "Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 8" (Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa Reloaded).
According to a report, Shahid once had to reach the sets of "Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 8" a little early than the usual days and hence, the "Shaandaar" actor could not have his daily workout done. Proving his dedication towards fitness, Shahid carried his gym kits on the sets of the show itself and worked out inside his vanity van.
"Shahid was doing a lot of push-ups and crunches. He had brought his entire gym gear with him that day," Bollywoodlife quoted a source as saying.
The report also stated that Shahid is very particular about his diet and always carries a box of oats wherever he goes. "He never eats anything unhealthy. If anybody offers him chips, he refuses, opens his dabba and munches on oats," the source added.
Shahid happens to be one of the jury members in the TV show "Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 8". Other jury members include Malaika Arora Khan, Ganesh Hegde and Lauren Gottlieb. Director Karan Johar was recently replaced by Malaika Arora Khan.
On the other side, Shahid has been busy with the promotion of his upcoming movie "Shaandaar" starring Alia Bhatt. It is supposed to be India's first ever destination-wedding film and is one of the most awaited flicks of the year.
Directed by Vikas Bahl, "Shaandaar" is slated to hit the screens on 22 October.

Watch Shahid Kapoor and Alia Bhatt spice up your evening

Shahid Kapoor and Alia Bhatt in a still from Shaam Shaandaar

Shahid Kapoor and Alia Bhatt are leaving no stone unturned in entertaining their fans. The two have already raised expectations with the trailer of their upcoming film Shaandaar.
After that, the first song from the film, Gulaabo, received much applause from fans of Shahid and Alia. Now, the title track of the film has been launched, and it might have just ensured a place for itself in the biggest chart-busters of the year.

Sung by Amit Trivedi and penned by Amitabh Bhattacharya, Shaam Shaandaar is a peppy track. While Shahid makes complete use of his dance skills all through the number, Alia doesn't have much room for doing the same. Out of the three minutes that the song video runs for, Alia has only about half a minute to display her prowess on the dance floor.

What's Shahid Kapoor's new fascination on Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa Reloaded sets?

Shahid Kapoor

Shahid Kapoor who spends hours shooting for Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa Relaodedthese days has a new fascination. The actor is busy learning the moonwalk and can be seen doing it on the sets constantly. Recently, he was spotted practising moonwalk, on the sets of the show.
An insider reveals,“Shahid actually asked one of the contestants to teach him this iconic step. Every time there was a break, he would get busy perfecting his moves under the guidance of the contestant, Faisal. He learnt the step very quickly and ever since, he has been practising it frequently.”
The insider adds that it was actually quite entertaining to watch Shahid learn the step from the contestant. “He keeps having fun with the team. He always entertains the crew and the audience present in between shots and breaks. He’s very lively and upbeat while shooting, and is always mingling with the contestants and the production unit. He enjoys dancing, and is in a happy space when he sees a good performance. Whenever he sees something new, he tries to learn it too,” adds the insider.

Shahid Kapoor Opens up on Alia Bhatt's 'Shaandaar' Bikini Shot

'Shaandaar' Trailer Launch

A lot is being written and said about Alia Bhatt's bikini shot in the "Shaandaar" trailer. The 22-year-old may look effortless in the scene, but she had to endure temperatures as low as minus 2.0 degrees Celsius for it.
Co-star Shahid Kapoor batted for Alia saying he understood how uncomfortable it must have been for her as they were shooting in chilling weather.
"I know how uncomfortable Alia was wearing a bikini. It was freezing cold. In fact, when I was wearing a ganji and walking bare feet, I was shivering. So I can imagine what Alia was going through. And the beach at which we were shooting was no less than any other beach in Mumbai. Alia could hardly pull down her dangri!," Miss Malini quoted the young actor as saying.
However, the much-talked about bikini body didn't come easy for the leading lady. Talking about the rigorous workout routine to The Indian Express, Alia revealed how she used to tag along to the gym with Shahid where they would exercise together.
"Also, my bikini shot was not supposed to be an elaborate one. It was initially just supposed to be me in the bikini. But since I worked so hard, Vikas(Bahl) said, 'Shot le lete hai accha wala.' I am happy that you liked it," she further elaborated.
In other news, Shahid and Alia's "Gulaabo" song video from "Shaandaar" is out and has already gone viral garnering over 3,000,000 hits on YouTube in less than three days.
Karan Johar, who is co-producing the film, took to Twitter to express his happiness over the new feat.

Alia Bhatt and Shahid Kapoor groove in style

The first song of Alia Bhatt-Shahid Kapoor-starrer Shaandaar was released with much fanfare on Thursday evening. Titled Gulaabo, it is a peppy number where we see Alia and Shahid having a midnight party amidst a countryside set-up after they sneak out of the wedding house. The song also features Shahid's step sister Sanah Kapoor. Shaandaar is Vikas Bahl's latest directorial venture, with destination wedding being the premise of the story.
The lead pair performed live at the launch of the song. Shahid also shared a small video of the performance on his Instagram account.

Anvita Dutt has written the lyrics for the song and Vishal Dadlani and Anusha Mani have lent their voices to the number. Anvita, who has also written the screenplay and dialogues for the film, has earlier given us quirky numbers like London Thumakda and Jugni from Kangana Ranaut-starrer Queen (2014). Gulaabo's lyrics, too, has the makings of a hit song. Sample this: "Tauba tauba tu to meetha sa murabba, tauba tauba tu to shahad ka dabba". Amit Trivedi has composed the music.

Two flops in one month made me stronger: Shahid Kapoor

While his last film Haider (2014) was a hit with the critics as well as the masses, actor Shahid Kapoor recently spoke about the time when his films did not garner success at the box office, and how he was scared of facing the camera after that. The 34-year-old, who is currently judging an ongoing dance reality show, was seen encouraging a contestant, who was upset after his performance did not go off well.

“The contestant was very disappointed with his performance as he blanked out and missed out many steps. Shahid consoled him, and said that failure is a part of life and he would come back even stronger,” says a source, from the sets of the show.

Watch the trailer for Shaandaar here

Talking about a tough time in his career, Shahid said that it made him learn that only failure makes you stronger. “There was a time when I gave two flop films in just one month and I was scared to come back in front of the camera while they were starting the shoot for (my next film) Vivah (2006). That time my director (Sooraj Barjatya) told me to never give up and I came out stronger. Failure is a part of life,” said Shahid
