Did Shahid Kapoor have a fallout with makers of Shaandaar?

Shahid

Shahid Kapoor was the star of 2014, with his Haider going on to win all Awards this year. But this year, with just one release, stakes were already high for the actor. And Vikas Bahl’s Shaandaar, although looked promising from the promos has fallen flat at the box office. We now hear that with the film’s dwindling box office returns, Shahid too has expressed his displeasure and has had a fallout with the makers of the film.
Shahid, we hear was never happy with the film’s script and he didn’t like it either on paper. It was only due because of his friend Madhu Mantana that the actor decided to take up the project. But now, Sasha is regretting the decision of doing so. Why? The film failed to create magic at the box office and has been heavily panned by critics and the public.
Shahid, who was basking in his Haider glory is now furious because it was thanks to Haider that Shahid’s star value had upped quite a few levels. Now with Shaandaar nose-diving, Shahid’s career is back to square one and this has not gone down too well with the actor. We hear his disinterest was evident during the film’s promotions, after he had watched the first screening of his film.
Guess, it’s again up to Udta Punjab and Vishal Bhardwaj’s Rangoon to resurrect Shahid’s falling star power! And we’re sure Sasha will bounce back with these films, given that such roles have always worked wonders for him.

Shahid Kapoor is 'More Than Happy' to do Television Shows

Shahid Kapoor

Actor Shahid Kapoor, who made his television debut with the dance based reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa Reloaded, said that he had a lot of fun and would be happy to do more shows on television.

"I had a lot of fun doing Jhalak and I must say that I'm happy that I started with a show like that. So, I'm more than happy to do more shows on television," Shahid told IANS.

"I was very unsure in the beginning. I didn't know how I feel about it (TV). In the beginning I was a little nervous. More than that, I was a little unsure because I don't like judging people. But after spending a few week of doing that in Jhalak, I actually had a personal equation with all the contestants. I used to talk to them as a friend," he added.

Shahid, who is a trained dancer, said that he would also love to do a dance-based film.

"I get to dance in everything that I do. I've no complaints that way. I would be happy and would love to star in a dance film if something comes my way," said Shahid.

Here's Shahid Kapoor, Alia Bhatt's Shaandaar Box Office Magic So Far

Shaandaar

After a brilliant box office performance on Dussehra, Shahid Kapoor and Alia Bhatt'sShaandaar witnessed a sharp dip in collection figures on October 23, still raking in a total of Rs 20.65 crores. Much unlike Taran Adarsh, whose tweets usually include a comment or a forecast, the trade analyst simply shared the figures on Saturday. With day two collections amounting to a mere Rs 7.55 crores, it looks like Vikas Bahl, who directed the hugely successful Queen in 2014, has lost his Midas touch. Queen starring Kangana Ranaut, Rajkummar Rao and Lisa Haydon, opened to excellent reviews and continued to rule the theatres three weeks in a row.

However, with the destination wedding drama, the 34-year-old actor has achieved his highest opening day collections with a score of Rs 13 crores on Thursday, October 22. This was Shahid's first 2015 movie and also his first after he married Mira Rajput in July 2015.

Alia too, who features in Shaandaar as a sprightly girl, marks her first and last 2015 project with the film.

Shaalia, as Shahid and Alia are popularly known, will feature again in Vishal Bhardwaj's Udta Punjab in 2016. The thriller drama will also star Kareena Kapoor Khan.

Shahid Kapoor on Why he Decided to Marry Mira Rajput

Shahid Kapoor

Shahid Kapoor comes from a film family while his wife Mira is new to the world of glamour.  The actor says this difference works better for them.

"I think the fact that we are different works for us. It is a nice thing that we are different from each other. But at the same time we are good at communication, we get along well," Shahid said in an interview here.

"She (Mira) makes me feel very normal. I go back to a very real atmosphere and I really like that a lot. She has no desire to get overtly 'filmy' as a person. She is very much an individual in her own right," he said.

Mira is yet to get used to the paparazzi that surrounds her actor husband all the time.

"She finds it difficult (to get used to the paparazzi) it will take sometime for her to get used to it. But she is understanding."

Shahid said he decided to settle down with Mira after spending time with her.

"We met, spend time and we really liked each other. I feel you should be with someone who you are comfortable with it doesn't matter how and where you met. Everybody meets a certain way but after you meet how you feel is important." The 34-year-old actor did not reveal what clicked between the couple.

"I don't want to share details because it is personal. I hope people respect that. Her side of the family is very normal and they don't understand what is written about and all that," he said.

The Vivah actor, however, believes that marriage has made him more responsible.

"It (marriage) makes you more responsible. I have been living on my own for the last nine years. I was independent at an early age. I have been earning since I was 16-year-old and I shifted to my own house when I was 23-24 years old. I have lived an independent life, though I had responsibilities," he added.

"When you get married it makes you feel more responsible. It makes you feel settled, grounded, there is certain clarity where you future lies. Every time you take a decision you think a little more as it is not just about you, you need to be responsible towards other person as well," he added.

So this is a very important opportunity for us, and I hope it turns out to be the best film that Alia and I have done in this genre, because after that every person has their own careers," said Shahid.

"The genre of a quirky love story, romantic comedy in a fairytale-ish world. We perhaps might not get the opportunity to do such a genre for the next one or two years," added Shahid.

Apart from Shaandaar, Shahid and Alia will also be seen together in Abhishek Chaubey'sUdta Punjab.

The kind of films that I'm doing such as my last film Haider or Shaandaar, and now or our next film together, Udta Punjab. After that Alia is doing other films and I'm doing other films and I'm very sad that she's working without me, but it's okay," said Shahid.

Shahid and Alia's new song 'Neend Na Mujhko Aaye' from 'Shaandaar'

Shaandaar

Neend Na Mujhko Aaye -- a rendition of Asha Bhosle's age-old classic is picturised on Alia Bhatt and Shahid Kapoor who play insomniacs in Shaandaar. The song was launched at a coffee shop in Mumbai at midnight. The theme of the song is insomnia.
"We have given the 60s song the touch of 20s. It is one of the old songs that talks about insomnia so we thought why recreate a new song, take something that is nostalgic and beautiful and recreate it for Shahid and Alia," Vikas Bahl said.
When asked what does Shahid do when he is awake, he says, "I like going on a drive when I don't feel sleepy as that time traffic is less. I listen to songs or watch films. It is that time you do things that you want to do may be secretly."
The Haider star revealed that Shaandaar was shot in 52 days and out of which 35 days they were shooting in the night.
"It is not a dark film, it is a happy film," he quipped.
